Colts agree to contract with their last remaining unsigned rookie

Finally, after much ado, all eight of the Colts most recent draftees have officially been signed. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, 2nd round pick J.T. Tuimoloau, the most recent addition to the Colts' formidable defensive line, has signed to a 4-year, $9.95M deal.

Tuimoloau was the 45th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, coming by way of Ohio State. A former 2024 CFP National Champion, JTT is bound to be in the mix for consistent playing time during his rookie season, as his physical gifts make him a reliable pass rusher and run blocker. The departure of Dayo Odeyingbo to the Chicago Bears, along with Samson Ebukam coming off of injury, and Kwity Payer entering a contract year, concocts the perfect storm for JTT to have an efficacious debut year.

During his collegiate senior season, he recorded 61 tackles (35 solo), 22 TFL, 12.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. His dominant presence on the field was an integral part of Ohio State's success, and resulted in the former 5-star recruit earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors for a third straight season.

All rookies are required to report to Colts' camp on July 21st, so it seems like JTT, along with an onslaught of other 2nd round rookies, decided to put pen to paper at the 11th hour.

This a player who many fans are excited to see on the gridiron, as his Day 1 play ability is a deviation of past Ballard draft picks who, beyond their impressive athletic profile, projected more as developmental pieces.
